Congratulations if you are a newly engaged gal! Enjoy this moment! If you are getting married in 2025 or 2026/2027, this blog has some great insights on what is trending in weddings!
The first step in planning your wedding is to understand what you need to clarify before you tour any venues or make any plans. This free 2025 timeline and guide can help! Use code Engaged2025 at checkout for your free copy with our compliments!
Secondly, know that ‘your wedding’ is precisely that! While traditions and trends come and go, your memory will last a lifetime. Make your wedding YOUR vision regardless of trends, traditions, or lists others offer you.
Here are the newest wedding trends for 2025, in no particular order. The last one is my favorite!
Bride’s Notes:
- Short dresses and/or two-in-one dresses offer a chic option for brides to go from ceremony to party girl in seconds! Bows, pearls, fluff, or any avant-garde adornments are in for 2025!
- Wedding day hair is long, natural, and elegant. Structured updos are no longer popular; 2025 brides will choose a more natural and softer look, maybe with an old-school vintage hair comb or clip and glam-style wavy locks.
Couples Preferences:
- The first look is being passed on for couples reading vows privately to each other. This tender, intimate moment is cherished so much that the lovebirds want to do so privately, one-on-one, without an audience.
- Hometown weddings are at thoughtful locations that mean something to the couples; think of soulful places and spaces!
- Less talk, more action. After the ceremony, couples join their guests for cocktail hour, engaging and interacting immediately with their besties and family. Time with guests is in, and long-winded speeches are out!
- Heart-shaped wedding cakes are perfect for 2025 newlyweds!
- There will be no formal bridal party announcements or dance entrances. Time with family and friends is more important to couples than to parade into the reception with a grand entrance.

New Wedding Decor 2025:
- The minimalist is gone, and the maximist is here in 2025! Let there be stunning, jaw-dropping, and insanity displayed and designed in floral, draping, and unique decor and lighting!
- Bright, bold florals for the wedding party and decor! Hot pink, purple, rich cobalt blue, and orange! Become color-me-happy!
- Less uplighting and more unique options with floating candles, strung lights, neon signs, and colorful paper lanterns.
Documenting Your Day:
- Candid photography, composed in documentary style, brings a sense of nostalgia and romance to the photos. These are authentic moments as they happen in real-time.
- Videography is in, and it’s not your momma’s wedding video. An artistic look with soft lenses, natural lighting, and thoughtful editing will show your day and love story in a breathtaking new way, allowing you to relive every moment repeatedly!
- Content Creators – offering video and images taken by their phones of the day’s events with a snap delivery of 24/48 hours, enabling the couple to share content and announce their wedding with visuals. The bonus for couples is without the need to have a phone in their hand all day!
- Memories by QR code gallery that guests scan to upload content they snapped at your wedding. Will this replace your photographer? No! Will it give you a rush the next day at brunch? Yes!

- Champagne towers are in—but be forewarned: This is an art to create, and one should ensure the venue or catering staff can execute it without a tumble!
- 360-degree bars—Ready-to-drink cocktails keep the party going, with a ‘casino-style circle bar’ keeping people engaged and chatting with each other instead of waiting in line like sheep.
- Interactive experiences think yard, carnival, casino-style games, or a retro camper photo experience. Immerse your guests in an activity to get them engaged in an experience together!
Immersive Experiences:
- Hot Cocoa or coffee bar for cocktail hour, with whiskey or flavored liquor, mints, chocolate, and marshmallow options to wake your guests with a bit of caffeine with a kick!
- Cheesy iPad kiosk photo booths are out, and more structured ‘portrait photography’ options are in! Something that gives your guests an elegant, memorable favor and dynamic image to take home. Think minimal, clean, and sleek! Offer unique frames as a wedding favor!
- Food as art—charcuterie, fruit/veggies, sushi/sashimi, chips/dips, fondues, or anything that can be designed and created for guests in a yummy wowza display!
Last but not least.
- The boutique toss is tossed out! Honestly, what girl wants to stand there hoping to catch it? Giving the bouquet to the person who has no moment in the wedding with a few heartfelt words of appreciation leaves the room teary-eyed. Giving your mom the bouquet instead of tossing it to female unmarried guests is a memory you and your mom will treasure forever.
Tell us, what are your thoughts on these new trends for 2025? Which one is your favorite?
